Our Cabin

If you want to see the cabin we reserved for our 10 year anniversary you can visit http://www.cedarcreekcabinrentals.com/. Once you are there, click on "Cabin Gallery" on the left and then select "Trout Lily". I cannot wait!!!
We did find out; however, that it is not trout season. Matt did find some year-round streams so hopefully he will have some luck. If not, I guess we will just have to go back!!

Colton's Last Soccer Game and Party for the Fall Season

Colton had his last soccer game of the season and it was definitely a tough one. They did pull out the final win of the season though. The score was 5-4. Colton had a great game and made some very key saves. He was pleased with how well he played as were we. We definitely cheered loudly!!! It was the coach's first undefeated season, so we were glad to be a part of it!
After the game, we had their party. The team went to Kiwanis Park to play, eat hot dogs (and lots of cupcakes), hand out trophies and give the gifts to the coaches. The kids had a lot of fun and loved their trophies. My camera ran out of batteries, so I will get the pictures of the team and trophies from my friend and post them. The coaches, including Matt, enjoyed their gifts. The coach announced that Colton is invited to be the keeper/goalie for next year's challenge team. That made him very excited. That team will travel around NC playing (mostly in this region).

Updates

Well, Maggie made it to Fayetteville! She was tired, but was excited to see the boys. We met her at Pope Air Force Base, then the boys, Colton, Maggie and her parents went to a reception while Maggie checked in her weapons and things. Then, they met us at the house for a "Thanksgiving Dinner". It was a nice dinner and it was great to have her there.

Well, we reserved our cabin for our 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! Still cannot believe we have been married for 10 years (dated off and on for 17 years!!!). It has been wonderful and look forward to many, many more years together. Our cabin is in Helen, Georgia. If you would like to see more about Helen you can visit
http://www.helenga.org/ to see just how neat it is. We are really looking forward to it. We will be arriving on the 27th and staying through Sunday. Very excited to sit in the hot tub out on the deck!!!

Colton has his last game tomorrow. He had a great practice tonight! He is feeling much better. A lot of kids have been sick lately.

Maggie Comes Home

I just wanted to let everyone know that Maggie will be coming home from Iraq today!!!! I will post pictures as soon as I get them! We are so excited that she will be home for good. The boys have really missed her, of course, so have we! Her plane was delayed by an hour, so it looks like she will be arriving around 3:00.

Too Much Excitement

Well I guess all of the excitement wore out Colton because he is home sick today. It has been going around at his school and my work, so figured it was about time. Too bad it is him though. He has a very sore throat, congested nose, etc. Right now he is in bed watching cartoons. He says if he feels better he will play Playstation but so far he is just lying there. Poor thing!

Report Card Day

Colton received his first report card in 3rd grade today. He earned the following grades:
  • Reading-93%
  • Language-98%
  • Spelling-98%
  • Math-96%
  • Science/Health-99%
  • Social Studies-98%

So he made straight A's. He also received an "S" (the highest he can earn) for writing, (composition), handwriting, art, music, PE, work/study habits, homework, and conduct. We were really proud of his report card. His name will be in the paper for "A" honor roll, so I will have to cut it out and scrapbook it!!

Of course, we fooled Matt by pretending Colton was crying on the phone. We told him Colton got an "F". Matt fell for it! Colton thought it was hilarious. I swear the child could have won an Oscar for his performance.

Soccer

Well it was another Saturday and another win for the soccer team. Colton had a great game and stopped several shots. They won 13-2, so they are still undefeated. Colton has had a fun and exciting fall season. He has enjoyed having his dad help out with the team. Matt has gotten a lot out of it as well. They are definitely having a great time together practicing, playing, etc. I have really enjoyed watching the practices and games. They have a good group of kids and Coach Tim has taught them a lot. This Saturday will be the final game of the season and then they will have their end-of-the-year party where they will receive their trophies!!!
