WATER FIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!!!

Talk about a REALLY FUN time!!!! What started out as the kids playing with water guns quickly turned in to an all out water war!!!! Even Bets got picked up and soaked!!! I think the whole neighborhood knew we were having an awesome time!

Zoo Trip with the Millers and Bets

The Miller Family and Bets came down for an awesome visit! It was so nice to see everyone, especially our nephews, Grey and Everett! Colton really liked hanging with his cousins. We had a blast! One day we decided to go to the zoo, as did A LOT of other people in the area. (Matt, Colton and I enjoyed using our zoo pass to go to the small line for members at the entrance.) Although it was probably the busiest day at the zoo that we had seen, we were able to make it through most of the exhibits. Colton loved learning all about photography from his Mamaw Bets! I think he took over her camera for most of the day. There were a lot of pictures of animals, but I chose to post mainly the ones of the family. It was a really great day! It was nice to share "our zoo" with them.

Colton took this picture of the elephant...

The boys had a great time doing the "Monkey Dance"...

Colton's Last Days as a 3rd Grader

Colton finished 3rd grade!!!! He ended the year with straight A's, so for the entire school year he only made one B (and that was one point from an A). We are glad that the year is over!!! We are very proud of him! We learned that he was accepted into AIG (the gifted program), so that will start next school year. Overall, he did really well and made some great friends! His open house for this school year will be August 21 and that is when he will find out his fourth grade class. Here is to hoping he gets a great teacher this year!

Soccer Tournaments

Colton was in two tournaments since the last post. He was the goalie in the Wrangler Tournament which was held in Greensboro and he did an AWESOME job!!!!! The team finished in 2nd place. During our weekend stay, Colton discovered his love for Hooter's (restaurant) wings. I found out that I LOVE their raw oysters!!!! Matt made them so delicious. The 3 of us had a great weekend.

Colton was also invited to play on a 3vs3 team that played in a tournament in Chapel Hill. This was a great experience. There were about 6 teams that went together (Colton's team was the youngest). The kids were incredible. The older ones would cheer for the younger ones and everyone supported one another. We just hung out together all day. It was a lot of fun! Also, they placed 3rd in their age group and qualified to go to the next round; however, we are not moving on.
Matt was one of the coaches for both tournaments and did a great job. He really is a wonderful coach!!!!

OK

Alright family and friends...I heard your complaining that I need to post on the blog, so tonight I will start adding some posts. I was holding out until we found out if something was left in our house during a certain someone's visit (Amy). By the way, we found a foot from the chicken/elephant/whatever thing!!!!!!!!!
There has been a lot going on with the Dutchess Family. We are EXTREMELY sad that Mike and his family have officially moved to DC! We really enjoyed having them around here! Oh well...at least we will have another place to stay when in DC!!!
Colton made the Challenge Soccer team. He is on the U10 SASL Sabres. Matt is one of the coaches and they are having fun. His season will run from September 7 (his birthday) through November 2. He will play in a tournament at Myrtle Beach in October.
This weekend we are driving Colton to WV so that he may stay with Papa Kenny and Gramcracker Libby. He is very excited to be going to WV again. We were up there recently for a poker tournament that Matt was in. Bets won him a place in the tournament again this year. It was held in Snowshoe and we had so much fun. We were happy that Bets, Rusty and Kaleb came over to support Matt and hang out with us.

My dad is doing great after his double knee surgery!!!! We have been so proud of him and all of the progress he has made! He is already walking around without the support of his walker or cane! He has been doing so well!
Soooooo...don't want to tell too much without pictures so will begin posting some of the events that have happened since our last post.
