Mother's Day at Carolina Beach

I must say we had a wonderful Mother's Day. Matt and Colton took me to Carolina Beach where we stayed at the Golden Sands. We had an oceanfront room on the 6th floor. The view was so nice! We had a great day on the beach Saturday. Lots of digging, relaxing, building, walking and swimming (mostly Colton-the water was cold-if you looked around it was pretty much the kids in the water with the adults watching from their chairs). We always go in the water so you know it had to be pretty cold for us not to go in. Colton of course said it was great.
Where we stayed had an indoor and outdoor pool, restaurant and a tiki bar out on the hotel pier. They had a band at night (until the weather started to move in). We left our balcony door open all night so we were able to hear the ocean all night. It was great to wake up to the noise of the water. We woke up early Sunday (6:00 am) to take one last walk on the beach before the rain came, which it did. There were a lot of jellyfish washed up on the shore during our walk and the ocean was rough. We went to breakfast and then to the aquarium before heading home.
It was such a nice trip!

Colton digging his wall/trench-people were very kind and stepped over it-when a wave would come he would lay down in front of it to save it from falling

The tiki bar that Matt thought was really cool-this was as close as he got to it though

Finding "Diggers" (top) and Matt tricking Colton by spraying him with the shower as he cleaned his feet (below)
Colton took this photo at 6:00 am from our balcony
This is my favorite photo (top); below is the rough water and one of the jellyfish
Our hotel is in the background
Notice Colton's name in the sand below him
