Dad and the Robotic Legs

My dad had DOUBLE knee surgery at the end of June in Pinehurst. He did well during surgery and had a lot of great support. Mom, Mike and the boys were there all day during the "wait time". Matt, Colton and I arrived about an hour before we were able to see him after the surgery. He had a robotic device that moved his legs one at a time, which everyone thought was really cool. He was up and took a few steps within days and even made it to the door and back. He stayed at the hospital to participate in rehab, which was a great idea. The therapists, nurses, and doctors couldn't believe how well he was and is doing. He has been home and now has therapy in Sanford. He gets in the pool, exercises, etc. He now doesn't even need the walker. He only needs to use his cane once and awhile. It is amazing how well he is doing. My theory is that his knees have been hurting so much for so long that he is ready to work out his new knees. Even his scars look good!!!

Matt let my dad borrow his "Stud Muffin" mug while we snuck in some coffee. Seriously, my dad didn't want to bother the nurses with continuously making more coffee, so we brought him some.
