July 4th

We had a blast over the July 4th weekend! We went to Atlantic Beach with the Millers and I think everyone had a fantastic time, except when attempting to have a "quick" and "easy" dinner at McDonalds (but even that wasn't so bad since we were at the beach). We stayed at the Island Inn, which is only 2 blocks from the beach and across the street from Wings.
Colton and Matt enjoyed surfing the waves. I did too while wearing my new bathing suit...that was until I ripped my brand new bathing suit on a nail sticking out from my beach chair. :) Dave even got into riding the waves and while wearing his Marshall Univ. hat!
Matt worked forever on the kite. He tried very hard to figure it out! While he was working on getting the kite to stay up...Everett enjoyed playing with the tail (see below).
As much fun as we had at the beach, we really enjoyed the hotel pool!!! Colton learned how to do a front and back flip in the pool. Grey learned how to jump into the pool to Uncle Matt and his dad. We even watched the city's fireworks from the pool. We had great seats!!!! They were wonderful fireworks...I think Grey's favorite ones were the blue ones! Colton liked the green, blue and red ones.
At night, we sat outside the hotel rooms and played games. Amy brought a new one called "Last Word", which was a lot of fun. Colton won one round by knowing that a bird whose name starts with an "o" is an "osprey".
On the last morning, Colton and I walked down to the beach, so he could use his metal detector. He found 2 quarters, a penny and a nail before it started raining.
On the way back home, Matt was able to finally try the famous Dunkin Donuts coffee.
It was a terrific weekend and we were so glad to spend it celebrating at the beach with the Millers!!!!
